What’s Keeping You From Making a Change?
Many people want to make some kind of change in their lives but they often find themselves unable to make these changes, while some other people seem to make those changes effortlessly.
So, what’s the difference between them?
The difference is in their mindset.
Your beliefs lead to your thoughts.
Your thoughts lead to your feelings.
Your feelings lead to your actions.
Your actions lead to your results.
You can’t get somewhere new with the same old thinking and behaviors that got you here.
In order to make a change, you have to change first.
Why Is So Difficult to Make a Change?
So, why most people find it difficult to change their old patterns that are emotionally locked into their bodies?
Scientists reveal that we are conscious of only about 5% of our cognitive activity. About 95% of our decisions, actions, and behaviors are controlled by the programs stored in our subconscious mind, from which more than 70% lead to limiting and sabotaging beliefs.
Majority of our beliefs we formed during our early childhood by modeling and listening to our parents, siblings, neighbors, and teachers about how the world works and how we’re supposed to behave in it.
Many of our beliefs were downloaded into our subconscious mind even before our conscious mind was developed, so we rarely observe our own subconscious behaviors.
Those beliefs are buried deep in your subconscious mind, below the level of your conscious awareness. Once beliefs are created, they continue to operate in the background.
Your Beliefs Create Your Results
Beliefs are the lens through which you see the world. Your experience of the world is shaped by your beliefs. You can’t experience anything in your physical reality that is different than your beliefs.
Beliefs are not true or false, right or wrong, they’re simply tools we use to shape our reality.
They are the root of all our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. They affect every aspect of our life.
Think about your brain like it’s a supercomputer and your subconscious mind like software that hasn’t been updated with the right programming since you were a child and now plays that old program with viruses which are your limiting beliefs…
We don’t understand that we choose behaviors that are limiting and sabotaging, and we tend to blame outside sources for the problems we experience in our lives, completely unaware that our beliefs create our results.
The Elephant Rope Story
The first thing an elephant trainer trains an elephant to do is not to escape.
When the elephant is still a baby, the trainer ties a rope to his back leg and wraps it around a heavy stake in the ground.
The baby elephant is not strong enough to break free, and over time, he gives up.
Even when he has grown huge and strong, all the trainer has to do is tie a rope around the elephant’s leg to a tiny little twig — and the elephant won’t even try to escape. He has been conditioned NOT to use his power and strength.
Many people are like elephants – powerful beings, with amazing gifts and strengths, yet due to earlier conditioning, they hold themselves back and fail to realize their true potential.
The First Step Is Awareness
We all have limiting beliefs that keep us stuck in some way. The good news is that you can work out to eliminate your limiting beliefs.
The first step to releasing your limiting beliefs is to become aware of them because you can’t change something that you’re not aware of.
Once you become aware that you are exactly where you are in life because of the beliefs that you hold about yourself and the world, you have a great ability to take your power back and release your limiting beliefs.
Because beliefs actually create our experience of life, we can change our experience by changing our beliefs.
You’re Limitless
There are no limitations to what you can be, do, or have. The only limitations are those that you impose on yourself.
Now, it’s up to you to choose what you’re going to do:
A) to keep thinking the same thoughts, feeling the same emotions, and recycling your old experiences or
B) to take a chance to become aware of your limiting beliefs, develop new patterns of thinking, and empower yourself to explore your true possibilities.
So, what are you going to choose?
