What is the Meaning of Life?
What is the meaning of life? – I kept asking this question and searching for an answer for the most part of my life and eventually found out that life itself has no built-in meaning. The meaning of life is that which we choose to give it.
Life is a playground and we are players, created to give life meaning, and the meaning we give it determines the effect we get out of it.
Life is Meaningless
The greatest gift you have been given when you were born is an ability to choose the meaning of your life. Life is meaningless. It is totally neutral. You choose whether you’re going to give it a positive or negative meaning. The choice is yours and you’ll experience whatever you choose because you always experience what you believe to be true.
What You Put Out is What You Get Back
Everything is energy and vibrates at a certain frequency.
Everything has its own frequency – your thoughts, beliefs, intentions, actions… everything!
Whatever frequency you put out, it’s the reflection that gets back to you. It’s simply, physics.
Allow Difficulties to Serve You Positively
Nothing has meaning except for the meaning you give to it.
When you understand that everything is neutral, then you know that you don’t have to react in any particular way when something unwanted happens. If you see every circumstance and every situation as a fundamentally neutral, you can then decide that it will serve you in a positive way. You simply have to trust and have faith that it will, because you know that everything happens for a reason.
Trust that whatever happens is happening to teach you something or to serve you in a positive way.
And when you maintain that state of being, you will then see how the same circumstance that seemed negative before can actually serve you in a positive way.
We experience our reality according to the energy and meaning that we put into that reality.
When you put a positive meaning in, you can only get a positive effect out of it, even if someone else’s intention toward you is negative.
You can choose and decide what their intention and vibration mean to you, and that’s what you’re going to experience. They will experience their energy and their intention that they put in.
Everyone Has Their Own Reality
We are not sharing the same reality. The only way that you perceive other people in your reality is that you agreed to create out of your own consciousness, your version of them in your reality to interact with.
Every Situation is Neutral
Just because you see something, it doesn’t automatically mean something. We have different experiences in our everyday life. Some of these we could consider positive and others we could consider negative.
This is determined by the meaning that we assign to a particular experience.
Two people may have completely different experiences of the same thing based on the meaning they assign to that experience.
Meaning we usually assign to particular experience is determined by our past experiences and beliefs that we acquired from our parents, teachers, and society in our early childhood. Our beliefs don’t come from an objective universal truth.
When we assign a meaning to the experience, it disallows us to see the truth of an experience. That’s why we must learn to separate the experience from the meaning.
The moment you assign the meaning to the situation, it is as if you put a lens over your eyes, and from that moment forward all experiences that you have in a particular situation or with a particular person are filtered through this same lens. The truth is now colored and distorted by this perception that the experience is filtered through.
Look for Positive Aspects and Change the Meaning!
Much of the pain that we have experienced in our lives is not because of the actual experiences, but because of the meaning, we’ve given to those experiences.
Meaning is in fact an interpretation, and you cannot simply take interpretation to be the truth.
So, instead of assuming you had a bad experience, start questioning the meaning you gave it.
Ask yourself these questions:
What is the meaning that I gave to this experience?
Was that meaning an accurate interpretation at all?
Remember that regardless of what is happening in your life, you have the ability to choose the meaning and to consciously respond to any situation instead of just habitually react to it. Your response will then color your experience in a different way.
Thank you!
