Should You Get Paid For Helping People?
No matter how good they are in providing their services, some service providers, especially spiritual teachers, healers and coaches find it hard to charge for helping people with their services.
When this is the case, there are 2 main reasons – either they don’t see their VALUE or they have LIMITING BELIEFS around money.
Society often teaches us that money is hard to get, that we have to work hard for money, that we have to choose a work with a better salary over the work that we are passionate about.
What does work represent to you? Is it something that you enjoy and love doing, or is it something that you hate and feel awful every time you have to do it?
What is your definition of money? What does money represent to you? Is money easy to get? Is money something good or bad? Is money reward that you get for your hard work or something that you receive for the value you provide?
What Are Your Beliefs Around Money?
Now, let’s say that you’re a coach or a healer and you enjoy your work, love doing it and feel rewarded just for the sake of helping people.
If you’re conditioned to believe that money is hard to get and that you have to work hard for money, you won’t be open to receive money unless you worked hard for it.
And if you feel rewarded enough with just a compliment that you’ve received from your client, you might repel money because you won’t believe that you deserved it.
If you believe that money is not spiritual, considering yourself to be a spiritual person, you will repel money.
Also, if you believe that money is not important, you won’t attract clients that are willing to pay for your services because money is energy and like attracts like.
Would you stay around someone who said that you’re not important to them? No, of course, you wouldn’t (unless you have low self-esteem or you don’t respect yourself)! The same goes for money.
Some people believe that it is OK to get paid for work that they don’t like and it is NOT OK to get paid for something they love doing and get easily done.
They believe that they got a GIFT to help people, so they’re not allowed to charge for it, because it is a gift, right?
So, they’re wasting their time going to work that they hate just to earn some money, so they could do what they love in their FREE TIME, while they could be spending that time doing what they love, helping people and get properly REWARDED for that.
How silly is that?
Wouldn’t it be easier to DEFINE work as doing what you LOVE and get paid WELL for it?
Whatever you choose to believe, be sure that it serves you.
It is Selfish to Work at Job That You Don’t Like
We are much better at doing something that we love than doing something that we don’t love doing, and by doing something that we don’t love we are wasting our time because we could use it for doing what we love and helping people who need our help instead.
There are more and more people that need healing and want to go through the transformation.
Your purpose on this planet may be to express your spiritual gifts, but if you chose to go to the 9-5 job that you don’t like, you can’t help those people who might need your help.
If you put your attention on your 9-5 job, then you may not have enough energy to put in adding value to the people that might need your help.
What if you could enjoy your work, help people with it and charge properly for the value that you provide, so you don’t have to do something just for the sake of money?
Just like a doctor gets paid for helping people recover their health, you have to get paid for saving someone from struggle, pain, and suffering.
We Are Spiritual Beings Living in Material World
We are spiritual beings, but we live in this material world where the money is a currency for exchanging value. Yes, you have that gift for sharing with others, but don’t forget that by sharing your gift you’re providing a value.
And if money is the currency that is used for exchanging value, then you should get money for the service you provide, in the exact proportion with the value you provided.
The More Money You Have, The More People You Can Help
The most spiritual thing that you can do is to learn how to exchange the energy of your gifts for money which is also energy.
If you have more money you can then build a team and impact more people.
It’s not about what you can get for yourself, this is about having more money to help more people.
It is not selfish to have money. It is selfish to believe that it is bad to have money and that you need to be in some 9-5 job that you don’t like in order to earn money.
When you realize that you’re meant to be abundant then you can really give to other people.
We Are All Healers
We are all healers and we all have the power for healing within us but only a few people use that power. Some people use it for healing themselves and others use it for healing others, while the majority of people don’t use it at all even though they could learn how to use it.
Let’s say that you’re a healer who took your time and energy for learning how to use the energy for helping people and practice it daily. Now, you are helping someone who has the same ability as you but didn’t take the chance to learn more about it. Maybe they’ve chosen to learn how to repair cars instead and they are getting paid for the work they do.
Don’t you think that you should get paid for the value you provided to that person?
Think about how much time, money and energy have you invested in your special knowledge and practice.
Think about what is your service worth to the client, how would your services transform their lives and how much would it cost them to not take your services?
Base your price on the value and transformation your clients get from you and open up to receiving because you deserve it.
