How to Get What You Want in Life?
In order to find out how to get what you want in life your first step is to get clear on what you really want.
There are six steps to getting what you want.
1. Get Clear on What You Want and Why You Want It
The number one reason most people don’t get what they want is they don’t know what they want. Clarity leads to power. Only when you know where you are going, you can arrive at that place. So, get clear on what you want if you want to get what you want! Get as specific as possible about what you want.
What is that what you really want? Not what others want or what others think is the best for you but what you want?
If you want more money, how much money do you want?
If you want a new house, get clear on how this house would look like and how much would it cost so it would be easier to get an idea of how to get necessary resources.
If you want to start your own business, get clear on what kind of business do you really want. Then do your own due diligence and find out what skills and resources you need for this.
Get everything down on paper. By doing so, you will engage your Reticular Activating System which will then attract opportunities which are in alignment with that what you want. Your Reticular Activating System is part of your brain that is in charge of your focus. You always get what you focus on.
Most people don’t understand this part about focusing, so let me explain it. If you, for example, don’t have money and you really need money and focus all your attention on lack of money, you will only get more situations in which you will need money. That’s because when you focus on lack of money, you feel that frustration and your energy attracts like situations.
But if you focus on abundance and all the things that you will do with the money, you will start to feel better and when you feel as if you are already in possession of the money, you will allow your Reticular Activating System to attract it in your life.
Also, know why you want what you want because it will be easier to make a decision and to stick with it. Your why will get you to follow through on your decision.
2. Get Excited About What You Want
Before you go after that what you want, get excited and put yourself in a good mood and positive vibrational state, because your energy will determine your decisions and actions, and your actions will determine your results.
You’ve probably noticed already that you make better decisions and take better actions when in a positive emotional state, what consequently leads to better results.
3. Make a Firm Committed Decision
“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” – Tony Robbins
The decision means cutting off all other possibilities.
Most people get paralyzed by fear or self-doubt when it comes to decision making, but the worst thing you can do in such situation is to not make a decision at all, because not making a decision is also a decision, but not one you would like to make.
When you choose to do something just to play safe, you are likely to lose your motivation and not following through.
A decision you make can change the course of your life, so it’s important to know what you really want.
It doesn’t make sense to make a decision just for the sake of making a decision. Your decision must be in service of your wishes and desires and must be made for your own reasons and from the heart.
You don’t need to know exactly how you will get there when you’re making a decision. It will reveal to you along the way.
4. Make a Plan but Don’t Attach to the Outcome
Make a plan and revisit it from time to time. Don’t attach to the outcome and be prepared to change the plan accordingly.
5. Take Action
“A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.” -Tony Robbins
Your results are in direct relationship with your actions. New actions lead to new results.
We tend to procrastinate when it comes to doing something new because we don’t feel comfortable doing it or we doubt our abilities to do it properly, but without action, our dreams are not likely to come true because the action is a bridge between our dreams and our desired reality.
The important thing here is that you have to take inspired action because when you are inspired and in a good emotional state, it’s much easier to take action and your results will then follow your actions.
6. Follow Synchronicities
Synchronicities are meaningful coincidences that occur with no causal relationship yet seem to be meaningfully related.
Synchronicity is for example, when you think about someone and then the phone rings and it’s that person or you think about someone and then you suddenly meet that person.
Synchronicity is also when you think about where you’re going to find certain information, and then you receive an email on that subject or you stumble upon the article about that topic.
Synchronicity is more likely to occur when you’re in a relaxed state. If you pay attention you will notice there are synchronicities all around.
How to Get What You Want
